"Fanfare, I agree with taking out the ribbons but we definatly need an ear bonnet to keep the bugs out of their ears" I said amazed at how well the outfit was coming together. "So, is this definite? Are we going with thisoutfit except without the ribbons?" I asked thinking it would be enough. Without making a final descision, we all headed to the front with tons of things that we knew we wanted.

After checking out at the shop, the three of us headed back over to the stables to try on our new outfits.
**Skiping ahead to the day before the Hunter Pace**
I headed into the barn to find Nuffy and Fanfare in the isle. "Hey guys!" I said, heading right up to Rosco's stall. I gave him a pat and led him to an open set of crossties near the tack room. Grabbing a curry, I groomed him over and started a conversation. "so, are youi guys excited about tommorrow?" I asked happily.

"Yeah! Extremely excited!" I said to Joaka. I walked into Journey's stall, and started mucking it out. "Fanfare, have you ever been on a hunter pace before?"

((that was quick... and unexpected...))
"Well don't give up!" I said to Fanfare as I dropped the curry, untied Rosco, mounted, and trotted outside bareback with a halter and lead. "C'mon, Nuffy and Fanfare, grab a horse and lets go!" I said pushing Rosco into a canter down the driveway. I didn't wait for the others to catch up, instead I moved my horse into a gallop that quickly came up behind Dynamite. As we approached the road I began to worry but Dynamite thankfully veered off onto a trail. I knew the trail and it led to a field with another short trail heading back to the barn. Rosco followed the chestnut mare into the woods, he was begining to sweat. "C'mon Rosco boy!" I said encouragingly in his ear. The trail became rocky, forcing Dynamite to slow to a trot. I pulled Rosco up to a trot also hoping he wouldn't hurt himself. Once at the field, Dynamite let loose. Rosco and I did the same and we tore accross the field at a complete gallop right behind the loose horse. heard Nuffy and Fanfare behind me, looking back quickly I saw Nuffy galloping up on Journey and Fanfare on Prince, one of my other horses. I brought Rosco to a canter for them to catch up but not slow enough for Dynamite to get away. "Hurry up" I said "we can chase her to the arena back at the barn if we follow the trail up here" I said quickly. Thankfully Dynamite took the trail on her own and we followed her back to the stable and managed to get her in the arena to latch the gate behind her. After a good 15 minute run through the woods, the mare was finally contained galloping and bucking in the arena. I hopped off Rosco and felt his chest to see if he was hot. He was so I walked him in a large circle trying to figure out why Dynamite had bolted like that. "That was wierd" I said at last "Fanfare, do you know if she got spooked or something?"

After Rosco, Journey, and Prince were cooled, Dynamite finally settled down. Fanfare put Prince back and carefully went in and caught the chestnut mare. The three of us made our way back to the barn. I put Rosco back on the crossties and helped Fanfare tie Dynamite in her stall. This time we made sure to keep the door closed. Nuffy had journey back where she was and we started grooming again. "I think I'm gonna give Rosco a bath" I said, unclipping him and bringing him to the wash stall. Within five minutes he was all wet as I began to soap him. "So, are you guys excited about tomorrow?" I asked as I scrubbed at a manure stain on the big palomino. Once he was all soapy, I hosed him off again and sweat scraped the remaining water. I threw a cooler over Rosco's back and began to towel dry his face gently. Once his face was dry, I led him back to the crossties and dug out my clippers. Rosco was always good about this and a Clipped his muzzle, ears, bridle path, under his jaw, and his fetlocks. Next I soft brushed his face and combed through his mane and forelock with some detangler. Now I moved to his knotted up tail and combed it through doing my best not to pull too many hairs out. Then I pulled off his cooler, he was mostly dry but I toweled him off where he was still damp. With his coat silky soft, I brushed him over. I went to the tack room and came back with a spray bottle with a mixture of water and hair gel. I sprayed his left hip up where his topline is. Now, with a pulling comb, I made a checkerboard pattern in his coat. Spraying it again, the gel began to dry and hold it in place. I polished his feet and gave him a carrot. "Good boy Rosco" I said throwing a stable sheet over him and leading him to his stall. "I'm done, how bout you guys?" I asked politely as I picked up my brushes and everything.

((can someone plz reply besides me ...)) ***MORNING OF HUNTER PACE****big yawn* I walked sleepily towards the barn. All was silent and it was still dark out. As I entered the familiar isle, i flipped on the lights. One by one, all the horses stuck their heads over their doors to see what was going on so early. Without greeting my horses, I went to the tack/feed room and dragged out all my tack and gear that I would need for the hunter pace. Still half asleep, I piled the stuff into the back of my pickup. I went back to see that most of the horses had crawled back into their caves and dozed off in the back corner. Only a few heads remained, one which was Rosco. After everything seemed packed and ready to go Nuffy and Fanfare came in. "Hi guys" I said sofly as they entered *another big yawn* "I'll help you two pack, My stuff is already loaded."

((thx, lol))
As Nuffy groomed Journey, and Fanfare packed up, I helped get Ainsley cleaned up. Since Dynamite couldn't go, Ainsley was to take her place. I groomed him best I could before tending to Dynamite. I poulticed it and left her inside till we came back when I would take the poultice off. When Ainsley and Journey were cleaned up, I helped Nuffy load her stuff and before long, all 3 horses were blanketed and ready to go. Rosco had shipping boots, a head-bumper, a fleece-covered halter, and a traveling sheet. He knew something was up and jigged immpatiently towards the trailer. It was just a 3-horse slant load, so Rosco went in first. "C'mon boy" I said as he hesitated at the ramp. I gave a tug on the rope and Rosco came into the trailer. "Good boy" I said, rubbing his neck as I tied him and then latched the divider in place. I walked out of the trailer where Journey was waiting to be loaded. "Your turn" I said still half asleep to Nuffy. I saw Fanfare in the barn sweeping Ainsley over one more time with a soft brush when Journey loaded. He went right on in and stood nicely as he was tied and locked in. "2 down, 1 to go" I said with a slight smile. "Fanfare, your turn!" I said as she glanced over and came towards us. Ainsley walked up to the ramp and backed up snorting. "C'mon Ainsley!" I said walking towards him as if it would help. Fanfare was persistant and kept asking him to go in while Nuffy and I coaxed from behind. After 5 minutes or so, he was inside the trailer too and was latched in. I raised the ramp and left the top doors open and also opened the windows on the side where the horses heads were. They couldn't stick their heads out though, there were bars in the way but at least it allowed ventilation. We checked on them quickly before hopping in the truck and hitting the road. As we pulled out of the drive I couldn't hold my excitment in. "I'm so excited!" I said loudly with a huge smile, "You guys must be too!"

As we reached the grounds about an hour later, Fanfare hopped out and signed us in for the "Hilltoppers" division. Nuffy and I parked the trailer and set everything up. When Fanfare came back, we unloaded. Ainsley back right out, as if he had been waiting to get off. Journey and Rosco back out fine. I tied Rosco to the side of the trailer next to Journey who was next to Ainsley. I took the boots off Rosco, took off the head bumper and fleece halter covers and his traveling sheet before grooming him over quickly. The others did the same. Before long we were all saddled and heading for the warm up arena where a map of the course was. We all looked at it before mounting to warm up.

As I sat in the saddle, Rosco jigged forewards. "Easy Boy" I said with a halfhalt. He tucked his nose and spun a circle, excited to go. I walked him out to the rail and soon we were into a nice, framed trot. I kept his mind focused so he would listen to me, not paying attention to what the other horses were doing. At the far corner, I asked for a canter. Rosco plunged forewards into more of a gallop than anything. Halfhalt, halfhalt, halfhalt, sit back, halfhalt. Eventually we had a foreward canter and many, many circles. We changed direction too and when we were done Rosco was still eager to keep going. "You guys ready?" I asked, pulling the palomino to the center.

((AHHHH!!!!! really left behind! sry... ))
I throughly groomed Journey at the trailer until he was sparkling clean. He was stunning and well muscled from all of the rides I had been going on. I tacked up quick as I saw Joaka warming up. I finished the last buckle on the bridle and tightened up his girth. Journey was hot headed by the time we got to the warm up ring. I fixed my sturrups and hopped on. "Easy boy" I said to the prancing warmblood. I asked Journey for trot and off we went. After getting off some steam, I could tell Journey was ready to focuse and listen. Joaka and Fanfare were walking around the arena. "All set?" I asked
