"Well Lakota i said," as I groomed his slick coat,"What should we do today?"The content Horse whinnied at me."Maybe we should explore a bit to try to get used to your new stables." Once again my peppy stallion whinnied in agreement."Yea, thats what we'll do."I patted him on the side an went to the tack room to get my still bagged tack. I walked back to his stall to find him sniffing my pockets. "what do you want boy"I said,"Wait i must be stupid not to know, Here you go boy"As i pulled two white squares henuzzled my arm for his favorite, sugar cubes."Thats a boy" I tacked him up with his bosal and mane hair mecate."Well you better not try anything today because i still need to unpack my saddle so i am going to ride you bareback in the outdoor arena!"

I slowely walked him out to the arena letting him stop to sniff things so he would get used to his new surroundings. When i got to the arena i was surprised that no one was out today. I clicked my tongue and sent Lakota into a rocking canter. We slowed to a walk and i reached down to his neck and patted it an said"Good boy, I wasn't expecting you to do so well on your first time out here." I tied him to the fence and went into the tack room to get my lunging cavosen and lunge rope. "Hello boy"I said,as I walked over and put his Caveson on.I attached the lunge rope and gave him another sugar cube."Ok boy lets go." We started out good when all of a sudden he had a rocking canter like I never seen before. I slowed him down and Put his bosal on and noticed someone in the corner watching me."Hi"I said friendly. "Hi, Your horse is beautiful" "Thanx", Then the person walked away. I led Lakota to his stall and Went over his sleek coat with a sweat scraper and brush. I went out and got a bucket of water and poured the shiny liquid into his Waterer. "There you go boy drink up, I have to go get you some hay." I went and got his hay and on my return i thought about going on a trail ride tomorrow. " Well boy since you ate your sugar cubes I am going to go buy you some more,Bye"

As I walked int the stables i noticed in the tack room that i still didn't unpack my tack. I went in and unpacked my two saddles and my two bridles before unpacking my saddle pad and turnout sheets. I got my grooming kit and pleasure saddle and went to the crossties and layed my stuff down then i went to my horse Rainy's stall when I got there i didn't see her and I freaked out because she was new and everything was different. Then not thinking I looked over th stall door to find her laying down sleeping."wheew' I said and patted her and she got up. "I thought you got away girl." She whinnied." now look at you your all dirty again, o well." I picked up my brush and started brushing off her sleek coat. I put on her customized Halter and her chain lead and led her out to the crossties."I am sorry girl I forgot to grab your saddle pad."I said. I quickly ran into the tack room and came back out of breath. I waited a second took her off the cross ties and led her into the arena.' How about we explore today around the trails."She whinnied"After we warm up."So we trotted and loped for about five minutes then I walked out to the main trail. We walked over to a trail that led down the side of a hill and into a small gullie."Wow this place is beautiful,Rainy." Since today we rode Slow today we did a few jumps over dead trees."Thats a girl Rainy nice job." On the last jump I felt her Give a little so I got off a checked to see if Maybe she'd lost a splint or something. Sure enough she did so I readjusted her other one put her hobbles on and found the other splint in a hole behind a log. So I walked over and put it on her, unhobbled her and, gave her a small peppermint treat." Well girl let's go home"i said, She looked at me and almost nodded. So we trotted back unwound in the ring and untacked. I put some hoof oil on her and flyspray. After i was done I put her flymask on and put her in her paddock."Bye girl I'll be back tommorow."

"Today I think I will go see Native Wind"I said happily as I skipped down the asile way to Wind's stall. Wind's my Arabpoolosa and is a Palimino that i just recently imported is more of an english horse but i am training it western. "Hi Wind, how are you today"I said. He looked at me and snorted. I gave him a peppermint treat and some more oats an walked down to Rainy's stall. "Hi Rain" I said, "How are you today" The content blue roan mare looked at me with her big brown eyes and sniffed my pockets for treats. "I gave one to Wind so I will Give one to you.",I said with a smile. As I walked down to Lakotas stall I thought about showering him but decided not to and to wait for tommorow to do so. I got to his stall and I pulled the blue ribbon he previously won at a show and put it on his halter." That looks good on you boy" I said with a smile from ear to ear. "Here you go boy take two treats you deserve them." I walked down the asile saying bye to all the horse and especially bye to mine.

As I walked down the asile I wondered if I should just do a quick cleaning or just a quick ride due to me having to go pick up some things. So I just did a quick cleaning of Lakota,Rainy,Windy, and Relish's stalls. But before I left I thought about Relish being my new horse and all might not want to just sit there so I planed on riding him tommorow.

"Well Relish." I said As I groomed my Rangerbreds coat" You look stunning today." "Hmmm....What should we do today, trails?" He looked at me with his big brown eyes and nickered in agreement." Now what are you nickering about?,The part where I said you were stunning or the part about the trails?" O well we will go on the trails any way. I took him out to the crossties and began tacking him up. First I put on his new leather saddle and then his bosal. Most of the time people ask me why I use a bosal and not a bit. "I guess thats because I don't like the way they pinch the horses tongue. I will only use a bit in a show and even then I use a rubber mouth or dip bit, Ok Relish your ready." I took him off of the cross ties and got on him. We were heading to main trail that goes through the woods and to a meadow. When we got to the meadow he must have saw something that scared him because he took off so fast I lost the reins and eveything. I n my mind I didn't know what to do and I know I did but I froze up and just about when I remembered he threw me off and I sailed through the air and hit the soft mushy surface( this really happened about two years ago.). When I finally got up which must have been about a minute he was gone. I knew i had to worry about my own safty but I couldn't I was worried about him my horse. So I got up and ran back to the stables and got Lakota my dependable horse. I ran to the tack room and grabbed my lasso and second bosal. I quickly ran to Lakota's stall and ran him to the cross ties. In that short amount of time I had probably broke about a million stable rules but I didn't care I wanted Relish. I tacked Lakota up undid the cross ties and galloped into the woods to get Relish. I swear what seemed like an eternity was only about three minutes. As soon as I got to the stream where I used to jump Lakota I saw Relish with his reins hanging down and his saddle sliding back. his eyes were glazed and he looked petrified. I whistled at him and even held out treats and he still didn't come." Relish please come to me come to me boy whatever it was that scared you I didn't do it plaese come."By now I was inching up to him and he started moving towards me when a rabbit ran right infront of him and he was off again. By now My face was wet with tears but I didn't give up I wanted my horse and I will get him. So I grabbed Lakotas reins and literally jumped onto his back and he was off galloping after his long lost friend that I worked so hard to gain his trust on. We were gaining when he started to slow. In my head I thought yes he is finally tiring but it wasn't right he doesn't tire that fast it normally takes a while before he is done. I looked at him when he finally came to a walk before he stopped. Then I saw what terrified me to the core. He....had a laceration about two inches across his front left leg. He saw me coming on Lakota but it was to late I had him in my rope and was already walking him back to the stables before he new what to do. It took us half an hour before we actually reached the stables. I hurridly untacked him before getting to Lakota. Lakota has had his shares of cuts in his life and probably only wanted a treat for being good. I put Lakota in his stall and ran back to Relish to lead him to his stall before clipping his stall tie on and putting oats in his feed bin to distract him while I cleaned his wound with the horseaid kit I brought when I joined. Other than his cut and what I guessed to be a sprained leg, he seemed to be tired and normal. I looked at it and put all the tack and the kit away before I ran to Lakota's stall and hugging him almost into a rear. I gave him a few treats and lead him into the paddock. "Now I said to Relish Now I have to schedule a visit to the vet and buy another medkit." Bye

As I walked down the asile I dreaded the fact that I had to sell Native Wind. So as a good bye presant I was going to do a little riding today. I thought abput taking my hobbles and my lasso and taking Windy and Lakota. Yea I thought I'll do that it sounds like more fun anyway." hey Windy how are you?, I am sure going to miss you but I don't have the time to spend on five horses." I am realy going to beat myself down for this and I am. Oh well I ran to the tack room and got into my customized trunk and got my old bosal and mecate out. I hurriedly grabbed my bareback pad and skid boots. The hobbles I got were pure leather and the lasso I have is white. I sulked to Windys stall and lead her to the cross ties before putting the bareback pad and bosal on. I tied her to a near post and went and got Lakota and took him to the cross ties and ran back to my tack box and got my new bosal and mecate and ran back. I put the lead on her and got onto Windy and trotted to the main trail and walked down to the meadow trail before getting to where I wanted to be. I got off and put the hobbles on Lakota and grabbed Windy's Mecate hopped onto her back and took of in the direction of the small stream where Relish sprained his leg."Look girl this is where we took our first ride you remember?" She nieghed a high pitched neigh and walked to the exact spot where we first bonded. She took a drink and turned back to got to the field and stopped. She started to lay down to let me off but I stopped her and we continued to the field. When I got off to hobble her so that I could gallop Lakota to get rid of his stall cobwebs Windy just stared at me as if tto say i understand but why not have a good time and a last picknick of treats. I laughed and ran to Lakota. He started to take off but I knew he was going to do that so I stopped him to make sure that Windy did not try to take off with us. She didn't she just looked at me and stood there.'" I really think she understands me Lakota I feel terrible but this is the first time I ever rode her and it felt amazing as Lakotas show strides. I started to think about not selling her but I know if I don't another horse will not be rode." Well Lakota I guess this is the horse world oh well."Lakota suddenly had a burst of speed like never before and took right in the air. He jumped a four foot log in the path and I had to stop him or he would have ran right into the brush. I turned him around and he did the same thing only going the other way. We got to the clearing where I left Windy and he stopped. I got off of Lakota and unhobbled Windy and rode her in a victory lap around the field before leading Lakota back to the stables. I unpacked them both and put my hobbles and lasso away." Good bye Windy I really will miss you alot." I slowley walked out of the stables and left.

"Yea they are but you know what, I didn't want her wonderful pedigree and speed to go to waste so I think it was best."I said as I tacked up Lakota. "I am now just starting english(In real life too and it really hurts my butt LOL) riding so is it ok if we just walk/trot on the beach for maybe an hour or two?"I said as I walked Lakota to the cross ties grabbing my new English tack afterwards. " Lakota gave out a long neigh to Windy as Maggie who was buying her loaded her onto the trailer."Bye Windy" I said with tears streaming down my face, "And thankyou Maggie!, let's go ride jazz before Lakota has a cow." I said trying to lighten things up a bit.
