I lead Misty out of her stall and tied her up.I groomed and tacked her up carefully and lead her to the outdoor arena. It was empty and all was still.I mounted Misty and nuged her to walk around the ring. She warmed up quickly and we started to trot.Soon we were flying through the jumping course that stood in the arena,Misty was moving well and only knocked two rails down. But as we were going through the course a seconed time something happend,Something bad, very bad.Misty was cantering towards the last jump,it was almost 130 cm,Misty was an advanced jumper. But as we were one stride away from the jump when Misty flipped out she jumped wrong we cleared it but on the other side she fell onto the ground....Everything went black. I was unconcious in a coma........

I was just pulling up when Fanfare was walking towards the barn. Suddenly a worried look came onto her face and she ran as fast as she could. "Oh no!" I said to myself, something must be wrong. I shut the truck of right there, completely forgeting to park it and rushed over to the outdoor, the door still wide open! As I came closer I could see Lilly laying on the ground not moving and Misty standing nearby holding up one of her legs with her head high and eyes wide showing obvious pain. Fanfare was already in the arena running straight at Misty. "Fanfare, NO! Don't run!!" I screamed too late. Misty was spooked by Fanfare and turned to bolt but tripped and fell again. Fanfare stopped unsure of what to do. This time Misty didn't get up, "Go call 911" I ordered Fanfare not caring if I sounded mean. She immidiatly flipped open her cell phone and dialed in the three fearful numbers. I hurried over to Lilly, knealing down next to I took her pulse to make sure the worst hadn't happened. She was still alive and I didn't dare move her. Next I made sure she was breathing, which she was doing on her own. I removed her riding helmet, Since it was cracked anyways and to help open up her airway. "Fanfare, stay here with Lilly and make sure she doesn't stop breathing and she still has a pulse. Don't move her!" I told Fanfare as I hurreid over to Misty. I talked softly to her as I approached. Her head was up and she was looking at her leg and holding it up. "shhhh" I said softly. I knealed down beside her like I had done with Lilly and rubbed her softly. She laid her head down on the sand and gave a groan. "it's okay" I said hoping that I was right. With a worried look on my faceI looked over her leg, it was her front left and she had a nasty gash accross her forearm streaching down over her knee and halfway down her cannon. "I know girl, that hurts a lot!" I said still talking just above a whisper. There were splinter all over her front legs and belly. I undid the girth to loosen up the saddle a bit even though the tree in the saddle had snapped. I turned to Fanfare "I'll stay here with Lilly and Misty, you go get my vet box so that I can take care of Misty" I said. Fanfare obeyed and came back a minute later with it. "Thanks now keep checking on Lilly" I told her. I turned back to Misty and quickly prepared an injection. I gave her pain killer and then numbed out her leg with two more neddles. She seemed to relax a little and her breathing eased. "Good girl" I said as I flushed out the wound. I got every splinter out of the gash and began stitching it up. 214 stitches later and Misty's leg was somewhat back together. There was also some tendon damage but that would heal on it's own. I began wrapping her leg in a way to hold the stitches in and support her tendons. Just then a police car ambulance and a firetruck came up the driveway and stopped outside the gate. They came in and Fanfare told them everything while The doctors put Lilly on a streacher. About five minutes later they were leaving with Lilly in the ambulance. Fanfare came over to Misty to see how she was. We both were completely silent as I finished wrapping her leg and urged her back to her feet. Misty eventually stood but still wasn't quite sure what to do since she couldn't feel that leg anymore. Fanfare went ahead back to the barn and put another bag of shavings in her stall and refilled her water bucket. I led Misty slowly back and put her in her stall. I had Fanfare old her while I put a polo wrap on her other leg to help support her. Then I put a stable sheet on her and slipped her halter off. Both Fanfare and I stood at the door for a few minutes before I said "I think she will be okay but she's in a lot of pain."
