My horse Vision's Victory Uprising has passed... He was only 15 years old and a very avid dressage horse. I could sleep on him in the paddock or stall and and jump him witout a bridle or saddle. He was not only my horse, but my friend, my family, and part of me. We won shows together and were sad together and got cut up together and lost together, but this passing of Vision is going to be a hard impact on me and our farm. Vision had the most wins and winnings and produced some great dressage prospects and I believe that our thoroughbred stally is going to be missed dearly by the stables and mostly by me. May Equus be with you on your trail to the Golden Meadow.. My siggy is a picture of him... well one I found that resembled him due to the fact that I really had no Pics to match my Background. I would be most obliged if you would leave your respects. Thanks guys

He coliced and when the vet got there it was too late.... I wasn't home so I really don't have a good idea of how bad it was.

That's too bad. A neighboring farm had an adorable little buckskin pony who coliced for almost a whole week before passing away. This is the worst case I had ever known of but I guess he had some type of stone stuck in his intestines and the only thing that could have saved him was surgery. By the time we knew that it was far too late to do anything, he would have had to have the surgery three days before we knew he needed it. He died mostly because his intestines ruptured. The saddest part was about Liz. She didn't own him but rode him almost every day and hung out with him all the time and pratically lived in his stall with him. It was as if she owned him. Her parents are divorced so she had to go accross the country to stay with her dad for six months becausy of the custody agreement. The day she came back, she went down to the barn to see him and he was colicing. She sat down with him, his head in her lap. They stayed there for a little over two hours before he passed right there in her arms. She's still very much into the horses but now can't ride for the rest of the summer. Recently she had a horse fall on top of her while she was riding and she fractured both hips and broke her tailbone which caused her to be in the hospital for three days and she won't be walking for at least a month, nevermind riding.

The doctors say she's going to make a full recovery and should be able to ride again in late fall. I don't think she's going to be afraid, her family strongly encourages her and her sister is completely unphased by the whole thing. Her sister still rides and everything, hopefully everything goes well. Her trainer visited her today with one of her favorite horses, I guess she really enjoyed that.
